"Prefab" (modular) homes are becoming popular, especially the new modern styles which can be hard to find already constructed. The homes are generally less expensive, quicker to erect, and more "green" friendly than the standard home. Interested? There are a lot of designs to choose from, something for everybody.
First step is to find, buy and develop the land first. Which can be exhausting and time consuming since real estate agents cannot get involved with the land prep. Here are a few designs to consider.
The Log Kit:
Loq•kit is a proposed system of mass-produced interchangeable and reusable house parts. With the components, affordable homes may be quickly assembled into many configurations – each unique in layout and appearance. Loq•kit house parts use snap-lock connections so that homeowners may adapt their homes to changing needs over time. Loq•kit was created by architect Patrick Freet and dates back to 2001
